If you are looking for a perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal at Disney World, be sure to check out the bread service at Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Sanaa serves amazing African and Indian cuisine, featuring the popular bread service everyone talks about at Disney! It is definitely worth a visit on your next Walt Disney World vacation and is one of our family’s favorite meals on Disney property. Read through these popular questions about Sanaa and find out if it might be a great option for your family on your next visit to Orlando.
Where is Sanaa?
Sanaa is located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Animal Kingdom Lodge is made up of a larger building called the Jambo House and a smaller building called Kidani Village. Sanaa is housed in Kidani, the smaller resort, but you can easily walk back and forth between the buildings.
If you are driving, you can easily park at the covered parking garage at Kidani Village. Just be sure to let the parking attendant know that you have a dining reservation to be admitted into the resort. Sanaa is located on the lower level of Kidani Village. Walk through the beautiful lobby and walk downstairs from the central staircase or take the elevator. Restrooms are also located in the waiting area for Sanaa.
Is Sanaa inside Animal Kingdom?
Sanaa is not inside Animal Kingdom Park. Be sure to understand that you will need to leave Animal Kingdom and take the bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village for your lunch or dinner reservation.
If you are leaving from a Disney World resort, take the bus service to Animal Kingdom Park. Then, transfer to the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus and exit at Kidani Village. If you are using Disney transportation, be sure to give yourself about 90 minutes to get to Sanaa. You are generally given a 15-minute grace period, but you do not want to risk missing your reservation.
If you prefer to get to Sanaa quickly, you can take a taxi or car service such as Lyft or Uber. Just be sure to tell your driver you need to exit at the second resort, Kidani Village, and not Jambo House.
Is Sanaa a quick service or a table service reservation?
Sanaa is a table service restaurant. Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app or website to make a dining reservation. (Reservations open 60 days in advance of your Disney trip.) It is a very popular restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation, if you want to try Sanaa’s delicious Indian-style bread service.
What will I see at Sanaa?
Sanaa is a beautiful restaurant any time of day. The colors are reminiscent of nature and the African safari with rich browns, dark greens, and yellows. When you arrive, you can access the lunch menu or dinner menu with a QR code menu. The menu is also posted in the restaurant lobby or you can request a paper menu.
Large windows surround Sanaa, showing off the beautiful animals roaming the savanna of the resort. On your next visit, you may want to request a table next to the windows to take full advantage of the views. Of course, you will also want to leave time before or after your reservation to go outside and fully explore the grounds. See if you can spot a giraffe, birds, or even cattle! A Disney cast member is always posted outside to answer any questions about the animals. We have always found them to be incredibly informative and helpful.
What does Sanaa’s bread service include?
The Sanaa Indian-style bread service includes a variety of homemade naan bread. These different breads include paneer paratha, onion kulcha, spiced naan, traditional naan, and garlic-ginger naan. This warm bread is heated to a toasted perfection. All are filled with great flavor.
The best part of Sanaa bread service is the amazing different sauces with delicious Indian flavors. They make the perfect pairing between soft bread and the spicy flavors of the different dipping sauces. You can opt to order three or nine accompaniments, but I would say go for all nine!
The nine dipping sauces include cucumber raita, tamarind chutney, mango chutney (my favorite!), tomato-date jam, roasted red pepper hummus, red chile sambal, garlic pickle, spicy jalapeno-lime pickle, and coriander chutney.
You can request extra breads and more dipping sauces. If you have picky eaters, encourage them to start with the milder sauce options.
Also, Disney World restaurants are fantastic with food allergies and dietary needs. Be sure to talk to your server about the allergy-friendly menu options, vegan options, or other needs that your family might require on your next visit. Check the Disney website for more info on allergy-sensitive menu options.
Does Sanaa have a lounge?
Yes, Sanaa does have a lounge. They do accept walk-ups, but a reservation is still the best way to ensure a spot at Sanaa. You can sit at the bar and still order the bread service! Some of the most popular drinks at Sanaa include the Kande Coconut Cooler and the African Starr Mojito.
What main course should I order?
Hopefully, you save room for a main course at Sanaa. We usually share the bread service and then enjoy the butter chicken from the Potjie Inspired menu! This is my favorite menu item after the bread service, and I can’t resist ordering it each time! The chicken is so tender and flavorful, and it is served with delicious accompaniments. The cilantro-coconut vegetables and scented Basmati rice make the perfect side with butter chicken. It is such a delicious meal!
My husband usually opts for braised beef potjie with chickpea wat and Basmati rice. Whatever you order, you really can’t wrong at Sanaa.
Can you mobile order the bread service at Sanaa?
If you can’t get a sit-down reservation at Sanaa or want to eat outside overlooking the savanna, you can mobile order the bread service at Sanaa for lunch or dinner. Just use the My Disney Experience app and get your mobile order placed!
Is there a dress code at Sanaa?
Theme park casual dress is fine at Sanaa, however, it can also be fun to dress up a bit! However, if you are heading to the parks or coming from the parks, your normal park dress is perfectly fine.
As usual, Disney does not permit any clothing with offensive language, transparent clothing, excessively torn items, or costumes for adults.
How much does lunch or dinner at Sanaa cost?
Lunch or dinner menu items currently range from $15.00-$34.99 per adult.
Can you make your own Sanaa bread service?
Once you visit Sanaa, you will want to try to recreate the bread service at home. A few years ago, Disney recipes released a recipe for naan. You can use this to make naan pizzas, wraps, and sandwiches. Try this one at home!
