My Background
With a background in both education and travel, I bring a unique perspective to family adventures. I’ve spent years working in diverse classroom settings—charter, private, public, and even homeschooling—teaching grades 1 through 6. This experience has deepened my understanding of what engages kids and makes learning fun.
In addition to my teaching career, I worked with a large children’s book publisher, aligning top literacy products with various state standards. This role honed my skills in finding the right resources for different age groups, which translates beautifully into my research for travel planning.
As a travel advisor, I specialize in creating unforgettable experiences for families, particularly when it comes to Disney destinations like Disney World, Disneyland, and the Disney Cruise Line. I love helping families craft memorable trips that foster connection and joy. - I was born in South Carolina, hence the name of my site being “The Palmetto Mom.” (The state tree of SC.)
- I have lived in nine different states in the U.S.
- My family includes my very supportive husband and four young kiddos.
- Don’t try to talk to me without morning coffee with hazelnut creamer because coffee is life.
- Hot dogs are gross.
- When I get stressed, I organize closets.
- My favorite book genre is biography.
