Visiting the theme parks as the holiday season comes along is always a good idea! This time of year in Southern California has lovely mild temperatures with the added benefit of the holiday decorations of the Christmas season.
Is it cold at Disneyland in November?
Visiting the Disney parks in Southern California during this month of the year is a great time to visit. You will most likely avoid the heat of the summer months and encounter moderate temperatures during your visit. Most likely, you won’t encounter extremely cold weather during the winter months, but always check the weather forecast before your vacation. This will help you know what to pack for Disneyland in November.
In general, cooler temperatures hover between 50-55 degrees in November. Though it could possibly dip lower than these average lows, around 55 degrees is a good ballpark estimate. It is most likely cool during the chilly mornings and at night time.
If you are planning to go to the Disney parks in the early mornings, be sure to pack layers for your Disneyland visit. A light jacket or sweatshirt will come in handy during your Disney vacation.
How hot is Disneyland in November?
November is the perfect time to visit Disneyland if you want to avoid the warmer months and the average high temperatures of the summer. Daytime average temperatures range between 70-75 degrees.
You can anticipate warmer weather in the afternoons with some warm days likely in early November. California weather is typically cooler in the mornings and evenings, so plan accordingly. When we visited last year, average temperatures were around 65 degrees which is my personal preference for days in amusement parks!
Does it rain at Disneyland in November?
One of my top tips is always be prepared for rain in the Disney parks. Though afternoon rain showers aren’t as frequent as in Walt Disney World in Orlando, rainy days can happen! In general, the rainy season begins in Southern California begins on November 1 and runs through April 30.
It is always a good option to throw a small umbrella or poncho into your park bag. If you are bringing a stroller into the Disney parks, be sure to pack a stroller cover to keep it nice and dry. Most likely, you will a great sunny day in Disneyland or Disney California Adventure Park, but it is always good to be prepared!
Is there a type of shirt best at Disneyland in November?
With daytime temperatures rising above 70 degrees, I always pack short sleeved shirts for my Disneyland vacation. If you have a favorite character, check out Amazon or Target before your trip. I like to pack a classic Mickey Mouse tee with a blue jean jacket or light sweater and jeans.
If you like to plan Disney bounding attire for your Disneyland outfits, check out your favorite character’s well-known colors and plan accordingly. Are you a big fan of Snow White? Think of a red t-shirt, blue jeans, and a yellow scarf or belt. Want to channel Areil? Try a combination of purple and green.
Should I pack shorts or pants for Disneyland in November?
Check the weather forecast before your Disneyland trip before you begin packing. I like to include a pair of jeans and a pair of leggings that I can mix and match. A pair of black leggings is a great option to dress up or down during your trip. If you anticipate several hot days during your visit, be sure to include some versatile shorts.
If you feel comfortable in jeans, of course, pack them as well! You can easily mix and match and go from day to evening.
Do I need a jacket at Disneyland in November?
I do suggest packing a light jacket or sweater for each member of your party. No matter how much of a good time you are having, if you are cold, it’s hard to fully enjoy your experience. Sometimes, indoor restaurants, rides, and shows may be chilly, so you will want an extra layer then too! Throw a jacket into your day pack each day to make sure you stay comfortable.
What should I include in my park bag for Disneyland?
As always, I suggest taking a refillable water bottle into your bag. Include your light jacket, sunglasses, sunblock, hat, poncho/rain jacket, portable battery pack, cell phone, park tickets (if needed), Magic Bands, snacks, gum, Band-Aids, and any needed medication. You may also want your credit card, photo ID, and health insurance card.

What type of shoes should I pack for Disneyland?
Be sure to pack comfortable shoes for your trip to Disneyland. You will do a lot of walking, so consider tennis shoes or waterproof sandals. If you plan to ride water rides, you may want to change into flip flops to avoid wet shoes for the rest of the day.
Can I swim at Disneyland in November?
Check the weather forecast before your trip, but you can usually plan to swim in November at Disneyland. Many resort pools are heated but check with your resort before you pack your swimsuit. If you plan to swim, remember your suit, sunscreen, hat, flip-flops, and sunglasses.

Do I need to purchase Genie+ in November?
I always suggest considering purchasing Genie+ at both Disney World and Disneyland. Genie+ at Disneyland can be purchased in advance of your trip. This is a great perk of Disneyland! You can easily hop from park to park, starting at 11 AM. Genie+ will help you maximize your time by reducing your time waiting in line.
