If you are anticipating an upcoming cruise with Disney Cruise Line, you probably know an incredible level of service awaits you! Disney Cruise Line is one of the most hospitable cruise lines in the world. One of the biggest perks I often remind my travel clients of is the included Disney Cruise Line room service with the price of your cruise.

Though you will probably not starve on the Disney Cruise Line ships, (the food is one of the best parts) sometimes it is nice to have a quick meal or snack in the quiet of your room during your vacation. Sip some coffee on the verandah, have some chocolate chip cookies and milk with your kids before bed, or enjoy a little continental breakfast before your fun port excursion! Room service delivery offers some flexibility and ease for your family.
In this article, I will give you all the ins and outs of Disney Cruise Line room service, including menu items, how to order, and tipping expectations. I hope these room service tips help you have an even more magical vacation!

What is Disney Cruise Line Room Service?
The entire Disney Cruise Line fleet of ships, including the Disney Wonder, Disney Magic, Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny and beyond offer room service with your cruise fare. Disney Cruise Line vacations offer room service 24 hours a day with a room service breakfast menu, lunch and dinner options, and snacks available throughout.
Though you will have plenty of dining options, room service is great for an early breakfast before a port adventure, a snack after an afternoon at the pool while getting ready in the room, to tide you over before a late dinner seating, or an after dinner dessert with a movie in the stateroom. And sometimes, you just need those late night snacks, especially on vacation!

Disney Cruise Line Room Service Menu Items
Breakfast Items
For your in stateroom dining, room service breakfast items include continental breakfast style items like cold cereal, pastries, bagels, muffins, donuts, toast, and croissants. You can request jams, butters, and cream cheese.
Generally, the cold cereals offered include Corn Flakes, Raisin Bran, Rice Krispies, Fruit Loops, Special K, Frosted Flakes and granola. You can also a fresh fruit cup and yogurt.

Drink options include regular and decaf coffee, hot tea, whole milk, skim milk, and chocolate milk. Juices offered are orange juice, grapefruit juice, and apple juice. This is a great option if you want a bite to eat or drink while getting ready for your port adventure or a day by the pool.
As a mom I also like to pack a few cereal boxes in my day bag, just in case one of my kids needs a snack while we are out and about. On our recent cruise, the prewrapped PBJ sandwiches were a life saver! Do note that unwrapped foods like fresh fruit can not be taken off the ship at any time.
Lunch and Dinner Items

Lunch and dinner menu items can be ordered throughout the day after the designated breakfast hours. Items include:
- sandwiches; BLT, paninis, grilled cheese
- cracker and cheese plate
- fruit bowls
- salads: Greek salad, house salad, chicken caesar and grilled salmon salad
- appetizers like chicken tenders, chicken wings
- hot items including hot dogs, hamburgers, macaroni and cheese, pizza
- chef specials like salmon, chicken dishes
- soups: tomato soup, chicken noodle
- desserts including chocolate chip cookies, Mickey Ice cream bars, Key Lime pie, and assorted cakes

Do some Disney Cruise Line room service items have an additional charge?
If you order prepackaged snacks like candy, peanuts, or popcorn, there will be an additional fee. Also, bottled beverages like sodas and bottled water, smoothies, and alcoholic beverages do have an added cost. (This is why I always advise my guests to bring aboard a refillable cup with a lid from home to transport drinks back to the room easily from the drink stations.)
How Do You Order Disney Cruise Line room service?

To order breakfast, you will find a room service menu card located in the desk drawer. Simply fill out what you would like for breakfast and check off a preferred room service delivery time. Hang the card on your stateroom door before 3 AM to receive your breakfast the next morning. Your stateroom host can help you locate the room service request cards and provide you with more, if needed.
Notate on the order form how many of each item you would like to receive from room service.
You can also order room service from the stateroom phone. Simply select the dining option and a friendly crew member will take your order!
The other way to order room service is through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. This app will be an essential part of your Disney Cruise Line vacation, so be sure to add it to your smart phone before your cruise. Once on board, you will be able to order room service through the app, as well as make requests to Guest Services, see your port excursions, read about daily activities on board, and much more.

Should I alert main dining if I am ordering room service instead of coming to dinner?
If you are using room service orders to substitute for your rotational dining time in the dining rooms, do let main dining know. This can be done with a quick message via the DCL app or a phone call to dining. This just helps in the planning for table service and lets DCL know that you are not ill or needing additional services.

How do I tip onboard a Disney Cruise?
You can bring dollar bills to tip your room service deliverer or you can add your tip to your stateroom folio. Typically, you want to tip about $1 per item or $2-3 per person served.
Is room service delivery quick?

In my past experience, breakfast orders placed the night before typically arrive on the earlier side of the window indicated on the card. If you are ordering throughout the day, delivery times will vary. If you order right around noon or between 5-6 pm, you will most likely have a bit longer to wait. Consider ordering at off peak times or allow plenty of time to receive your order before your next planned activity.
If you call in your room service order, using your stateroom phone, the cast member will give you an estimated wait time so you can know when to expect delivery.
What do I do with my room service tray?

You can call room service to come and collect your tray, if you like. We typically leave our tray in the room to be collected. You can also leave the tray in the hallway for collection, but be sure to leave it neatly stacked and covered for other guests walking by. Also, if the halls seem to be especially crowded, you may want to consider just leaving it in your room.
Can Disney Cruise Line room service serve allergy-friendly options?
The room service menu will notate if an item is allergy friendly, like GF for gluten free or DF for dairy free. If you have particular allergy concerns, be sure to let Disney Cruise Line know before your sailing (or your travel agent) so that allergy can be noted on your Disney Cruise Line reservation. DCL will take special precautions to ensure guest safety.
