What ingredients do you need for easy cheeseburger sliders casserole?
The ingredients for cheeseburger sliders casserole are pretty simple. I grabbed all of ours from Aldi and saved a bundle! I opt to use lean ground beef, but of course, you can use 80/20 if you want a more traditional flavor (you know, more of a White Castle vibe!).
- lean ground beef (1-2 lbs)
- cheddar cheese
- ketchup
- mustard
- pickles (optional)
- sweet Hawaiian rolls
- melted butter
- garlic powder
- Coconut aminos (or Worcestershire sauce)
- minced onion
- salt, pepper
- sesame seeds (optional)
How do I prep the beef for easy cheeseburger sliders casserole?
To prep your beef mixture, add the spices to your ground beef. I used two pounds of lean ground beef and added :
- 1 Tablespoon coconut aminos (or Worcestershire sauce)
- 1 teaspoon minced onion
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
You can line your casserole dish with aluminum foil for an easy way to clean up. Combine with hamburger meat with the spices in a medium bowl and make a large patty in the casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. (If you prefer to make it more like a sloppy joe, you can also make the cooked beef in large skillet with the spices. Then, you can transfer that to your individual burgers.)
How do you assemble cheeseburger sliders?
Drain the hamburger meat on a paper towel (or however you prefer!) If you want to add crispy bacon to the top of your classic burger, fry some up for some bacon cheeseburger sliders. Slice your slider rolls in half with a serrated knife. Use a spatula to transfer your ground meat on top of the bottom half of the rolls. Cover the meat mixture with cheddar cheese or American cheese, ketchup, mustard, butter pickles…whatever your family prefers!
Next, top the beef sliders with the top of the rolls. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter with 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/2 teaspoon of poppy seeds or sesame seeds (optional). If you don’t have seeds on hand, no worries. It doesn’t affect the final taste. (I didn’t have them for my cheese sliders, and it saved my preschooler’s questions about “what are those seeds on top?”)
Brush the butter onto the top of the rolls. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes and serve warm with melty cheese. You have some delicious easy Hawaiian roll sliders, the easiest way to satisfy the cheeseburger fan in you. Divide into 12 portions and serve. Hopefully, you have a new family favorite for busy school nights, a birthday party or the best football party finger food! Our toddler even loves these, as they are the perfect size for her little hands.
Can you add different flavors to your cheeseburger sliders casserole?
Yes! You can definitely experiment with these mini cheeseburgers. Consider using shredded beef with provolone for some Philly Cheesesteak sliders. Try adding brown sugar to season beef for a sweeter flavor. Use frozen Italian meatballs with spaghetti sauce in your slow cooker. Add these to your Hawaiian buns with shredded mozzarella for Italian meatball sliders.
Add any of your favorite burger toppings to make the best food option for hungry kids. You can also substitute potato buns for the slider buns, if you want a larger burger option. These are perfect for your next game day party or casual Sunday supper.
What can I serve with Cheeseburger Sliders casserole?
We served our cheeseburger sliders with steamed broccoli and air fryer onion rings. What’s your family’s favorite? French fries, chips, carrot sticks, grapes…so many possibilities!
